Picking the best DAM isn’t about finding the most features, it's about finding the best fit for you and your workflow. Some good qualifying questions to ask yourself include:
- Who is going to use it? Figure out who on your team and within your organization will actually be using the platform day to day. Do they want to do it all? Custom or turn-key? Something completely hands off and fully managed? All good things to consider.
- What’s the problem? Ask those most impacted by your current DAM challenges to know what’s broken, clunky or just plain annoying with your current approach.
- How do you want to work? Make a list of workflows and functionalities that you want in your ideal DAM, then ask vendors how their platforms stack up.
Having a good understanding of your DAM needs and wants will make it easier to identify the right fit. If they all still look the same, ask about onboarding. Will they help set things up? Train your team? Because the best solutions don’t just have the features you want, they also have the support system in place to help you understand and utilize them most effectively.
