Paramount Parks

Paramount Parks
Paramount Parks needed a cost-effective, easy-to-use and low-maintenance solution to manage its wealth of digital images, logos, videos and sound clips. The system needed to be web-based, secure, universally accessible, and easy to use for untrained users. The company opted for Image Portal and installed the system in January 2006.
“We’ve only had the package online for a month and a half now but our people are already using it on a regular basis. Certainly it has reduced the number of requests for assets we’ve received in the corporate office, plus it gave people access to assets they may not have known existed in the past.”

VP Interactive Marketing

COMPANY PROFILE
Paramount Parks is a leading developer and operator of world-class theme parks and location-based attractions, entertaining more than 13 million guests annually. The company currently owns and operates five of the most popular theme parks in North America including: Paramount Canada’s Wonderland (Toronto, Ontario, Canada); Paramount’s Carowinds (Charlotte, NC); Paramount’s Great America (Santa Clara, CA); Paramount’s Kings Dominion (Richmond, VA.), and Paramount’s Kings Island (Cincinnati, OH) as well as other award-winning theme parks in and outside the United States.
SO MANY PICTURES, SO LITTLE TIME…
Paramount Park’s thousands of digital assets, from images of the various theme parks to logos, videos and sound clips, were not very well organized and were scattered throughout the company. With a wide variety of users ranging from in-park marketing personnel to outside designers to creative talent in its ad agency, Paramount’s Interactive marketing department didn’t have the resources to effectively answer individual requests.
After analyzing several competing DAM solutions packages – some of which cost over five times as much – Paramount Park chose NetXposure’s Image Portal because it met all the company’s needs in a simple and cost-effective way. Since the January 2006 installation several thousand digital assets have been uploaded and catalogued, and can be searched and retrieved based on their metadata.
Impressed with the software’s user friendliness and asset management capabilities, Paramount expects significant savings in terms of cost, time, resources, and effort to find relevant artwork and imagery by simply typing in a few keywords, thus maximizing the value of these assets.
