When customers select NetXposure Digital Asset Management solutions over offerings from other DAM vendors, it is typically because of some combination, if not all, of the following Advantages:
User Interface
As a long time Apple development partner NetXposure has spent countless hours and company resources learning, adopting and implementing Apple Human Interface design principles into the user interface of our Digital Asset Management software. The essence of this methodology is to improve the user experience by making application interfaces more intuitive, learnable, and consistent. Or to put it another way, make them as simple as possible. As a rule of thumb, NetXposure adheres to the adage, “the user interface is not done when there’s nothing left to add, it is done when there is nothing left to take away.”
While the Apple design principles are popular with customers and give an idea of what to expect with future releases, it is NetXposure’s expertise in developing Rich Internet Applications (RIA) that truly sets the user interface apart from competing DAM solutions. NETXPOSURE 5.0 was the first DAM solution built with an Adobe Flex user interface. Adobe Flex is a highly productive framework for building intuitively expressive RIA’s that deploy consistently on all major browsers, desktops, and operating systems. Utilizing synergistic technologies like Adobe AIR allows Flex applications to access local data and system resources on the desktop. More importantly, the user experience greatly improves with well built Flex applications — both aesthetically and functionally — increasing user adoption of the application throughout organizations.

Leverage the DAM to the fullest extent by connecting it to all your relevant systems.
Technology: Flexible, Extensible, Scalable
The technology philosophy behind NetXposure DAM solutions is attractive quality to prospective customers. Our DAM solutions run on all major server platforms (Windows, Mac OS X, Solaris, Linux), and deploy consistently across all major web browsers and operating systems. The underlying technology is built on open standards, and a Services Oriented Architecture enables seamless integration with external applications. As the first DAM solution built with an Adobe Flex user interface, NetXposure takes advantage of technologies such as Adobe AIR to bridge the web and desktop user experience. Unlike other systems that lock data in an encrypted “black box”, NetXposure DAM technology is built to be as flexible as possible with the ability to integrate into a wide variety of technology environments. NetXposure sees DAM as far more than simply a digital archive or storage facility. We see it as centralized “Digital Hub” that can seamlessly sync with any work-in-progress project or other custom workflow. Whether it’s Ecommerce, CMS, ERP, CRM, production databases, or Adobe Creative Suite — in most cases NetXposure can integrate with it via a full Web Services API, making DAM a critical component of any organization’s digital media workflow.

Adobe's Creative Suite is the most ubiquitous production environment for digital assets.
Adobe Development Partner
NetXposure’s partnership with Adobe Systems began in 2000, on the beta team developing a server based imaging technology that would become Adobe Graphics Server (formerly known as Altercast). Since then NetXposure has been involved in numerous development partner programs at Adobe, working with a variety of technologies from their early, pre-release stages — most of which are integrated into NetXposure’s Enterprise DAM solution. Among these are XMP, Creative Suite, Flex, and most recently, Adobe AIR. Having access to Adobe beta technology as well as numerous personal contacts within several departments at Adobe puts NetXposure in a unique position to develop DAM solutions that take advantage of Adobe’s industry leading technologies.

Licensing Model
The NETXPOSURE Enterprise licensing model is unique in a few ways. First, it is licensed for unlimited users. As opposed to a “per seat” basis, an unlimited user license encourages organization-wide adoption of the solution. Second, customers can choose from a variety of core license tiers based on asset limit (number of files), allowing for a relatively low risk financial commitment to get started. Core licenses can be upgraded at any time as system usage grows. Finally, NetXposure offers a discount on the upfront license fee of Enterprise DAM solutions for educational institutions and non-profit organizations.
NetXposure also offers a DAM solution option called NetXpress, which is geared toward small workgroups, marketing departments and creative teams with a fixed monthly budget and little or no IT support. There is no upfront license fee or annual Support and Maintenance fee for NetXpress accounts, however a service fee based on storage and number of users is billed each month.
